DENTAL VENEERS

Dental Veneers, usually customized from porcelain, are a thin, semi-translucent "shell", permanently bonded to your teeth. While tey´re not suitable for every patient, veneers are cosmetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions of the front teeth, including:

* Diastemas (sapce between the teeth)
* Broken or Chipped teeth
* Unsightly, stained or washed out fillings
* Permanently stained or discolored teeth
* Misshapen or crooked teeth.

Ineer, mask layer of acrylic is uniformly thin to eliminate grinding.
Clear outer layer of veener promotes high luster not possible in standard bonding procedures.

ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS OF VENEERS
There are many benefits and advantages to having porcelain veneers placed on your front teeth. At one time, resin fillings or crowns were the only available treatment for these conditions. Today, a third alternative is available. The Advantages of veneers may include all of the following considerations:

* Often no anesthesia is required
* Only a small amount of tooth structure (if any) is removed during the procedure.
* A healthy " natural" look is achieved with little or no discomfort.

Porcelain Veneers

HOW ARE VENEERS DIFFERENT FROM FILLINGS OR CROWNS?
A composite resin filling may be used when only a small amount of tooth structure needs replacement. A porcelain veneer is indicated when a portion of the front surface of the tooth needs a " face lift". A full crown is indicated when a tooth has had root canal treatment, or when a substantial amount of the entire tooth structure (enamel) has been lost.

HOW ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS DONE?
Similar to a resin bonding procedure, veneers are attached directly to the existing tooth structure. An impression will be taken, to make an exact replica of your teeth . During your veneering appointment, your teeth will be etched with a mild acid solution. When the veneers are applied a tooth-colored liquid bonding material is applied. This helps the veneers adhere to your natural teeth.

 Before / After

WHAT TO EXPECT
Veneers can last for years, depending on how well they are taken care by the patient. Because veneers are stronger than simple bonding, they are also more resistant to stains and chipping.
You must maintain regular oral hygiene at home, and visit us for a routine cleasing exams. This is to ensure that your new veneers will look as good as new.
You should also avoid staining foods and beverages, such as blueberries, cherries, coffe, tea and red wine. Another important point is that oral habits such as nail biting, opening bobby pins and chewing on hard objects could damage your new veneers.

The decision to enhance your smile with porcelain veneers is very personal one. Even a subtle change in your smile can make an exceptional difference in the way you look and feeel, and on your social outlook. When you feel good, you look great, and that helps you project an image of self-confidence and high personal esteem. If you have any further questions about porcelain veneers, please ask us. Your smile is our business.

FULL ORAL REHABILITATION

A full-mouth reconstruction is a challenging treatment modality. The entire dentition is rehabilitated during a full-mouth reconstruction. The restorative dentist needs to thoroughly understand every aspect of the dentition, its relationship to the temporo-mandibular joints, and the functional interactions of the masticatory muscles. A full-mouth reconstruction approaches the oral cavity truly holistically. It leads to a complete rehabilitation of the mouth. Factors such as "vertical dimension," "centric relation," "speech," "muscle tone," and "equilibrated bite" are essential elements of a full-mouth reconstruction.

The Full Oral Rehabilitation is also a process whereby the teeth of the upper and lower arches of the oral cavity are reconstructed.  This may be done to improve aesthetics, to close gaps between teeth and to reverse the signs of dental ageing.  Composite fillings, veneers, crown and bridge work as well as implant crowns, may be utilized to obtain the desired result.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

A Dental Implant is a small "anchor" made of titanium. It is inserted into the jawbone to take the place of your missing root. After Osseo integration, or when the surrounding bone has attached to the implant, a replacement tooth is secured to the top of the implant.
The new tooth looks, feels, and performs just like a natural teeth. Dental implants can be used in a variety of situations, whether you need to replace a single missing tooth or many teeth. They can even be used to replace a full denture. As anchor points, implants can also securely attach a partial denture or bridge.
A single tooth or a full arch of teeth which have been lost due to injury or disease can be replaced with dental implants. Titanium metal is used because of its compatibility with bone and oral tissue.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Healthier and more beautiful: When teeth are missing, the surronding bone begins to shrink. This unhealthy bone loos can make your jaw line recede. Dental implants can help prevent deterioration of the jawbone caused by loss of teeth, so your face retains its natural shape.
As an alternative to bridgework, dental implants eliminate the need to grid down healthy teeth when replacing one or more adjacent teeth.
More comfortable: Bacause dental implants are securely anchored, there is no slipping or movement as there is with dentures. This eliminates some of the key worries of dentures, including poor fit, gum irritation, and pain from exposed nerves.
More confident: with dental implants, you will never need to cover your mouth when laughing, smilling or speaking. You can eat your favorite foods without pain or fear of embarrassment and taste every bite. You´ll look better, feel better, and live more confidently.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE IMPLANT PROCEDURE?
The dental implant process involves several steps that take place over a time period that average from six to eight months. The typical process will include the following steps:

Initial Implant Placement- This procedure is typically performed in your dentist´s office under local anesthesia. Your Doctor places the implant into your jawbone. Over the next several months, bone will attach to the surface of the implant anchoring it into position. In some cases, an additional minor procedure creates an opening through which your artificial tooth will emerge.

Implant prosthetic attachment- During this phase, your dentist painlessly attached a prosthetic "Dental Post" to the implant. A simple impression will be taken and over the next few weeks an artificial tooth will be made for you as a fuctional natural restoration.

Denture with Titanium Implants

ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?
If you´re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, you´re probably healthy enough to have an implant whether you´re missing teeth as a result of an injury, disease, or decay. General good health and adequate jawbone structure is the key requirement.
Your doctor will tell you if you are the right candidate for implants. Dr. Jorge Mustre and his doctors are knowledgeable dentist who will spend quality time with you to listen to address your oral health concerns.
Our friendly and caring staff will make you feel relaxed at our office. We look forward to hearing from you!
